SmartDeviceMonitor API
Ricoh’s proprietary networked peripheral management software utility - SmartDeviceMonitor - allows for the discovery, configuration and monitoring of Ricoh printers and multifunctional products. The SmartDeviceMonitor API allows other application programs to obtain status and other information about Ricoh peripheral devices on the network. The SmartDeviceMonitor API supports Windows 95/98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000 and XP operating system platforms. For details on SmartDeviceMonitor for Admin/Client, go to www.ricoh-europe.com/products.
The following features are supported by SmartDeviceMonitor API:
- Obtains the I/F version of PMAPI
- Obtains the handle to identify the specified peripheral device
- Obtains the function that the specified peripheral device has
- Obtains the connection status of the specified peripheral device
- Checks the common categories obtainable from the specified peripheral device
- Checks the specific categories obtainable from the specified peripheral device
- Obtains the common categories from the specified peripheral device
- Releases information (in memory) on common categories obtained by PMDevGetInfo()
- Obtains the specific categories’ information from the specified peripheral device
- Releases information (in memory) on specific categories obtained by PMDevGetFuncInfo()
- Closes the handle for the specified peripheral device
