Mr. Hede Nonaka, Vice President of the Marketing Division at Ricoh Corporation (U.S.) has participated in a panel discussion at the 2006 Worldwide Education and Research Conference from Sun Microsystems. The panel theme was 'ICT Workforce Development in a Globalizing World' and Mr. Nonaka approached important issues such as changes to educational policy and curricula necessary to train students as knowledge workers in a globalizing world, namely concerning embedded applications development. He also talked about the Ricoh and Sun Java Programming Contest as an example of how private industry and educational institutions should collaborate to skill and re-skill the current and future knowledge workforce.
