With IPDS Enabler it becomes possible to print IBM® host data such as transactional documents including bank statements, invoices etc. Once the software is installed on an Aficio™ device, the user can start receiving crucial printing data from an IBM® host. Mission critical printing of data residing on mainframe systems to mid volume printers is now possible without a need to buy a dedicated IPDS printer. Users can simply use their MFP for IPDS, PS and PCL printing.
Installation of IPDS Enabler is straightforward. The IPDS Config. Tool, a PC installable software utility, searches the network, detects all the systems that support IPDS and uploads the IPDS Enabler software to these devices. The IPDS Config. Tool helps IT managers control the supported MFPs with IPDS Enabler in a large network environment. Debugging data collections, device status monitoring and remote configuration of IPDS settings are available by default.
"IPDS Enabler has a beneficial effect on your Total Cost of Ownership," says Fumiharu Haitani, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe's Printing Solution Department. "IPDS Enabler installed on your Aficio™ MFP not only replaces dedicated IPDS printers, it also handles all common printing needs, as well as all copy and fax requirements. This way, customers can standardise their document output environment throughout the organisation, making management and maintenance much more cost effective."
